This narrative between gospel artist Mercy Chinwo & her former boss EeZee is very close to exposing the dark side of the gospel music industry. EeZee iis sure it will!!

Gospel Artist Mercy Chinwo Fued With Former Boss EeZee.
As with most cases, people have taken sides between gospel artist Mercy Chinwo & her former boss Ezekiel ThankGod in the ongoing case regardless of the truth.
There is no easy way to judge these two as they both appear to have their sides of the narrative. The things that are clear to the public so far are these;
Mercy is setting the record straight and Eezee talked to the press recently. Here’s how this case is playing out for both parties;
The two entered a music deal in 2017, with each agreeing to a 50/50 share of the revenue from the proceeds. The statement by Chinwo’s lawyers states that “At no point has she claimed that a 50/50 revenue split from her DSP is unfair.”
Eezee’s counterargument is that “there was a breach of contract.” In his words, Chinwo boycotted money into her personal accounts.
Someone was clearly getting the lion’s share, but who was it?
Three years into the contract in 2019, Eezee apparently had a conversation with Chinwo about extending the contract. In her statement, Mercy said she declined the extension. The relationship between the singer and EeZee spiralled downwards from that point never to recover, not yet. According to her statement, she was verbally abused and bullied with words like “I will deal with you, I will mess you up, I made you whom you are.” Eezee appears to be good with words which sort of provides more people with reasons to believe he was verbally abusive. At the high court, Eezee had addressed the gospel artist and her legal partners as “a cartel of evil people who have the face and mask of Christianity to destroy the system.” Eezee further said that Chinwo had earned over $1m from the same contract and said that she was discrediting what she had benefitted from.
Between 2020 when Chinwo demanded to see her contract when she sensed something wasn’t right anymore, and 2021, they had both lost trust for each other, bringing the media into the darkness with them.
When the contract was finally provided to Chinwo in 2022, there were visible alterations. EeZee argues that he has evidence and that all of these are lies. In his words, EeZee said, both sides need to publish their audit books for everyone to see.
EeZee claims to have received threats from Chinwo’s team. He advises the public to pay close attention to the truth and not be fanatics who make polarised decisions.
In his closing statement to the press at the high court, EeZee said “This event is going to unveil and unravel a lot of evil that goes on within the gospel ecosystem.”
As ministers, this is somewhat shameful and we can only hope for trust between contracting parties of any sort in the future.
