Hon. Unyime Idem, the Member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Public Procurement, has been actively investing in the development of his constituents through international training programs.

16th Batch to China: Data Infrastructure and Low-Carbon Development

On September 10, 2025, Idem dispatched the 16th batch of six Akwa Ibom youths to China for advanced training. This fully funded program focuses on data Infrastructure construction, application technologies, and international cooperation on Low-Carbon and circular development.

Idem emphasized that this initiative aligns with his commitment to training at least 100 Akwa Ibom indigenes in globally relevant skills. More so, to enhance their self-reliance and competitiveness.

Previous Training Initiatives

Idem’s dedication to youth empowerment is evident in his consistent efforts to provide international training opportunities. Earlier this year, he sent the 14th batch of Akwa Ibom youths to China for advanced technical training, underscoring his commitment to human capacity development.

Constituency Empowerment and Recognition

Beyond international training, Idem has implemented various empowerment programs within his constituency.

Idem’s contributions have been recognized nationally. In 2022, he was honored as the ‘Best Member House of Representatives (MHR) of the Year’ in the Leadership Excellence Awards. The recognition reflects his outstanding service and commitment to his constituents.

Through these initiatives, Hon. Unyime Idem continues to play a pivotal role in the development of Akwa Ibom State. The initiative aims to equip its youth with the skills necessary for success in the global arena.
