UK Lists Thousands of Properties Belonging To Deceased People, Nigerians Included
Nigerians who owned properties in the UK before their deaths and have not listed a traceable family member would likely have their properties on the list.

The United Kingdon, UK has updated its list of Unclaimed estates in 2025. A significant number of the properties and savings on the list belong to Nigerians. There are at least 70 properties with a Nigerian name that remain unclaimed in the UK.
Properties belonging to lots of other African migrants are also on the list. The deceased didn’t leave a will or identity of next of kin, the UK government has taken custody of the properties.

The dates of birth of these people who are associated with unclaimed properties in the UK range from the 1920s to the 1950s. One of them, Victor Adedapo Olufemi Fani Kayode, born in 1920 is the grandfather of Femi Fani-Kayode, Author and former Minister of Tourism of Nigeria.
