That phrase, “CSP Hundeyin is the real yet another with peacekeeping experience,” might sound like casual praise, but factually, it’s accurate:

The new CSP, Benjamin Hundeyin, is an academically qualified officer with both a BA and an MSc in relevant fields. He has confirmed international peacekeeping credentials and holds recognized professional memberships in PR and personnel management.

Why Hundeyin’s Background Matters

This position isn’t just about uplifting press, it is a career that blends strong academic rigor, professional affiliations, and real-world peacekeeping exposure. Now that he’s stepping into the national spotlight as FPRO, CSP Hundeyin brings a blend of credibility, communication acumen, and operational experience.

That combination positions him as someone uniquely suited to improve the policing image and foster trust between the Nigeria Police Force and the public.

An official police statement was released announcing that CSP (Chief Superintendent of Police) Benjamin Hundeyin has been appointed as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) for the Nigeria Police Force.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, formally approved Hundeyin’s appointment.

Hundeyin replaces DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who issued this statement as the outgoing spokesperson.

Profile of CSP Benjamin Hundeyin

A BA (Hons) in English Language from Lagos State University and MSc in Legal Criminology & Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.

He also acquired a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji.

Professionally, he has been an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) as well as a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA).

More so, he is associated with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM). H

He worked as Administration Officer at the Force PR Department, Abuja. Until this appointment, he was the Lagos State Police PRO, a high-visibility role.

The announcement signals a strategic change in how the Nigeria Police wants to handle public image, communication, and trust-building.

Peacekeeping Experience

undeyin was part of Nigeria’s UN Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020. CSP Benjamin Hundeyin was part of the Nigerian contingent to the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) in 2020.

That exposure means he has seen policing and security work in an international, high-conflict environment, which demands discipline, neutrality, and strong community engagement. This isn’t common for every officer who rises into the Force Public Relations Office (FPRO).

CSP Hundeyin’s academic training, peacekeeping experience, and PR background make him a bridge between the force and the public. It also suggests continuity in reforming the police’s reputation after years of criticism.
