President Tinubu Appoints 42 Federal Chairpersons
42 persons recently received appointments from the FG to run affairs in various federal agencies.

President Bola Tinubu has signed 42 persons as board chairs to federal agencies as well as secretary of the board of the Civil Defence, Immigration and Prison Services in a recent polarised appointments.
A keynote address by the former Secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha highlights the roles of the chairpersons.
The board chairmen are to work on a part-time basis as the law does not allow them to acquire full time official quarters.
The appointments are not expected to be a day to day management of parastatals as only ministers have that power.
The President further emphasised that the positions are non-executive. Appointees are not to interfere with the management of the organisations.

The President also appointed Nuhu Ribadu as Ogoni reconciliation leader.
According to Mustapha, the roles of the chairmem includes making sure that the long-term interests of the Federal government of Nigeria work out.
Chairpersons will work with the organisations to know what the jointbody mission and long term strategies are. They are to promote sustainable and cost efficient activities in the organisations.
Chairpersons establish internal control over financial reporting and risks assessments in the organisation as well as the strategies of risk management.
They will establish and promote the objectives, business and integrity of the organisation.
They will also monitor the performance of the management in achieving set objectives. The Chairman can also request necessary reports from management.
