The latest Nollywood crime thriller commissioned by Netflix and made by Kemi Adetiba will arrive on the streaming platform in March.
Director Kemi Adetiba has taken to production once more and this time she has developed an idea, To Kill A Monkey from the crime genre.
The series is a bonafide work of art highly rated by the director who hasn’t taken a moment off the hype since the beginning of production. Now wrapped up, To Kill A Monkey heads into the review and critic territory as viewers wait for its arrival.
What the premise of To Kill A Monkey promises, is a little bit of humour, sadness and inanity at least from the main character Efemini.
This is a young man having his share of bad luck when a little bit of compromise and bad choices change his life. Efemini suppresses his principles to explore cybercrime while trying to stay ahead of the consequences.
Kemi Adetiba had this to say about To Kill A Monkey:
We’re getting down, and building such an INCREDIBLE story for you, and I can’t wait for you to see it!
Among the cast for the series are Lilian Afegbai, Sunshine Roseman, Bucci Franklin, William Benson, Stella Damasus, Bimbo Akintola, Micheal Ejoor, and Chidi Mokeme all starring in lead roles.
Netflix has a standard arrangement for making Nollywood movies/series available on its platform. To Kill A Monkey is from an earlier deal with the director and the founder of Kemi Adetiba Visuals.
The deal covers only this series so far and it arrives on Netflix Naija in March 2024.
Netflix confirmed this arrival, but not the day.
In several regions where Netflix operates, To Kill A Monkey will roll out slowly within the next three years. Netflix India, Africa, the US, Europe, Canada and Latin America will likely get it early in 2024.
